Projects focus on software development to support our research.
Topics most likely revolve around significant improvements to our Network Calculus tool, the NCorg DNC.
However, prior knowledge in Network Calculus is not required.
Prior knowledge in graph theory, Java, and networking is (very) advantageous for successfully concluding a project.
Timing
Each project is handed out on an individual basis, on an individual time line.
Language of Instruction
We exclusively teach in English.
Project @DNet as Group Work
In contrast to final theses, projects can be taken as a team of students.
Git and GitLab
We will use the RUB GitLab server extensively for the project.

Sample Project Topics
Port the NCorg DNC graph backend to an external library, expose and test newly obtained features (visualization, export/import, graph algorithms for routing, etc.)
Implement Generalized Finitary Real-Time Calculus
Convert the NCorg DNC’s recursive backtracking of flow dependencies to an iterative algorithm
Enable the NCorg DNC to derive, evaluate, export/import the (min,plus)-algebraic term that bounds the worst-case end-to-end delay
Implement application-specific modeling capabilities along with a GUI, e.g., for automotive Ethernet or TSN
Implement pipelines for automated numerical evaluations and benchmarks of the NCorg DNC and related tools
Regulations
The WCPE project will officially count as one of the following modules, depending on your study program.
Thus, there is no individual module entry for WCPE or list of past projects.
